By Martin Kihara (Joshua Studio)Joshua is excited about its new Special Education Needs Department! (Let’s call it SEN-D for the sake of this blog.) We feel like the Lord’s SENDING us into realms that are not only new for us, but also for Tanzania. December 3 was International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), when JSA’s SEN joined with other partners around Arusha to celebrate! ![]() ![]() Students from different SEN schools attended the workshopOur SEN students (in JSA red jackets), represented the school by showing visitors and students how to assemble, repair and troubleshoot a computer. Led by their computer teacher, Mr. Dennis, they explained what the different components of a computer are. ![]() Our JSA students assemble a computer ![]() Voila! Computer is up and running!!The workshop was capped off by a little friendly competition. Students from the different SEN schools used their computers to answer common knowledge questions. (Think “Jeopardy!” But with computers). There was a lot of fun all around. ![]() Now that we’re SEN-registered, THAT department is ready to take off! We’ve just received funding from a kind donor to build a two-classroom unit with teacher’s office and two disability toilets.
